Dublin Port

Client: Dublin Port Company.

Project: A new office complex for the Harbour Master of Dublin Port.

Value: 900,000 euro.

The Maccom Solution
Maccom secured the tender to design, manufacture off-site and install a new three-storey office building at Dublin Port. The building is a steel-framed structure with both office and data storage accommodation for the Harbour Master, his team and administrative support.

Among the features of the building is extensive top-storey glazing and a balcony that enables the Harbour Master to view operations throughout Ireland’s largest port. In 2005 the port handled almost 27 million tonnes of freight and 1.2 million passengers.

Maccom also undertook much of the interior out-fitting of the new complex. The company also carried out extensive ground preparation work including reinforced concrete foundations which had to be piled because the building is located on an old pier at the harbour.
