Maccom is the one-stop-shop solution to your extra space needs at an affordable price and in remarkable time.

At Maccom we focus on your needs.  From experience we know that you need rooms and you need them fast.   We know you have heard about portable buildings but are unsure if they are right for you.

Do they have heating?

Do they have floor covering or windows?

Can I get one with a toilet and sink?

Will they fit my budget?

Will they be ready in time?

Will the plot of ground I have be big enough?

Will a portable building work for a classroom, an office,

a credit union, a changing room, a day care center,

a storeroom, a surgery, a (fill in the blank)?

We regularly exceed the expectations of our customers.

We have been helping people with these kinds of questions for the

last 30 years.   Over that time we have gained vast experience and

a substantial track record of happy customers.

We supply modular and portable buildings to a wide range of customers.

From large organisatons like the ESB, UOMS, Service Air, Dublin Bus

and the Department of Education & Science, to companies like PJ Walls, Balfour Beatty and Dublin Port to institutions like Fingal County Council

and Civil Defense, to hospitals like The Bons Secour and James Connolly Memorial hospital to individuals like the Doctor who wanted to add more treatment rooms to his surgery or the self employed graphic designer who wanted to move her studio out of her house to a purporse built modular building in her back garden.

Over the years we have built a team of structural and manufacturing engineers, quantity surveyors, civil engineers, architects, designers and master craftsmen. This pool of talent gives us the flexibility to tailor our service to suit your requirements.

We are a one-stop-shop and can take you

all the way from design to installation.

When you realise that you need another room for your office or another classroom for your school or your sports club needs more changing facilities etc., the first thing that springs to mind is bricks and mortar.

So you make some investigations and very quickly discover how expensive this kind of building can be.  Add to that the complications of planning permission and the length of time this type of building entails and the process can seem overwhelming, yet the need for the extra room remains and often with great urgency.

Also, if you have ever built anything with bricks and mortar you will know that even if those hurdles are crossed the build can be delayed, sometimes for weeks on end, due to bad weather.

Even if you overcome all these obstacles there is more to consider because in our climate changing world the effect on the environment has to be taken into account.  Traditional building techniques are very hard on the environment and consume 40% of the total fossil energy in Europe.

So What Is The Solution?

How do you get the building you need, at the price you can afford, in the time you need it?

Most people are surprised at what is possible with modular and portable buildings.

Finish

Modular building technology has advanced considerably in the last 15 years. Nowadays it is often difficult to tell the difference between a modular building and a bricks and mortar build. With suspended ceilings, decorative internal finishes, powder coated aluminium double glazed windows, to name but a few, the quality finish of our modular buildings is second to none.

Cost

We can cater to every budget.   Modular buildings generally cost a third of the cost of traditional building.  Portable buildings cost even less and our range of pre-owned factory reconditioned buildings are outstanding value for money.  There is also the option to rent because sometimes you just want the space but not the building.

Speed

New customers often find it hard to believe that we will have their building installed as fast as we say. Then once the building is complete they can’t believe we did it so quickly.  We can be this fast because our modular buildings are constructed in a factory so we have no delays from bad weather. While your bespoke modular building is being manufactured our ground crew is getting your site ready for its arrival. So when the day comes your modular building arrives on site and is installed with astonishing speed.

Gentle on the Planet

Our modular buildings conform to the Building Energy Model (SBEM) and comply with all the regulations concerning air leakage, insulation values and heating systems.  They feature improved wall, floor and ceiling insulation with gas fired wet heating systems which lower running costs and CO2 emissions.  Dual flush toilets reduce unnecessary water consumption while PIR Sensor lighting reduce unnecessary electricity consumption.

When a modular or portable building is relocated the amount of energy used is less than 3% of the energy that would be required to manufacture an equivalent new building using traditional building techniques.

Quality Control

In a traditional build, contractors often have to relay on the available tradesmen within the locality of the build. Because our modular buildings are constructed in a factory we can keep our quality control standards high because we have selected our craftsmen over time and have been working with the same team for years.

Simply put, our customers just keep coming back to us and while our prices are very competitive, our customers tell us the reason they keep coming back is because of our service and speed.

We can advise you on what the best building type for you is, whether buying or renting is the best option for you to suit your budget, what the design considerations will be, what safety and compliance certificates you will need and how much ground work will need to be done.
