Modular Building for Raheny Credit Union
Maccom recently assisted the Raheny & District Credit Union in finding temporary accommodation until such time as a new and more permanent facility could be found.
Credit Union Director Tom O’Connor set Maccom the task of finding a robust and workable modular building which he wanted to specifically tailor to suit the needs of the Credit Union members. Maccom’s Sales Manager Paul Dalton specified their unique and robust Modular solution which is made up of segments which are then fused together to give one solid, robust and most presentable building.
Raheny’s Credit Union is one the longest established in Ireland and was started back in 1962 when its first collection was 13s6d – it has come a long way since then and it is a forerunner in the League of Credit Unions on the Northside of Dublin.
The previous building named “O’Doherty House” after one the founders Michael O’Doherty was bought back in 1984 and it simply had to be replaced and Maccom were pleased to win the supply contract and they worked hand in hand with the Credit Union’s Team in developing the project from inception to installation which incidentally took just over 4 weeks from when Maccom delivered the units to site to handing over the keys.
“We had to make sure that we delivered a very high level of customer service as today’s Credit Union has really become a modern day ‘Peoples Bank’. So we included high quality client and staff facilities incorporating offices and consultation rooms, a full length counter with teller points, wash rooms and a canteen.
We also wanted to ensure that it was a lot more than a portable building so we used internal vinyl faced plasterboard and the electrical fit out included 3 core dado communication trunking which caters for electricity, data and telephones. The unit is finished with suspended ceilings and integrated defused lighting which makes for a superior high specification interior look.
We took account of the client’s needs for special access ramps and railings and we kept the colour scheme in line with the local environment by adding timber fencing against the back drop of oak trees.”
Maccom incorporated their unique ‘anti vandal’ specification into the design of the facility with special roller shutter window covers so this means that the buildings is as secure as any house and it is a bit more secure than most.
This new facility which is based within the local Church grounds car park was kindly facilitated by The Reverend Monsignor Martin O’Shea PP.
